The National Medicaid Action Council is an affiliate of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice that focuses exclusively on Medicaid home care issues. Medicaid is the single largest home care program in the country. The Council is the voice of home care on the federal level, with advocacy on a range on Medicaid home care policy issues and the central force on original research to further high-quality home care in Medicaid. Working in partnership with the NAHC Forum of State Associations, the council gives home care a powerful and effective role in federal and state Medicaid policy and operations. Governance of the Council is broad-based, with representation from the NAHC membership as a whole and full integration into NAHC’s organization overall.
The Medicaid Council Briefs are white papers issued by the Council on various developments in Medicaid home care, including dual eligibles, home and community-based services (HCBS), and managed long-term services and supports (MLTSS).
The Council has established a state Medicaid legislative and regulatory tracking system to help aid in its advocacy efforts. It is updated every two weeks along with publication of the Medicaid Council Report.
The Medicaid Council Report is a newsletter issued by the Council every two weeks. It features original content from the Council, news clippings on Medicaid expansion and other issues in Medicaid home care, and real time tracking of recent state legislative and regulatory developments.
